Tiny Bookshop
A cozy mobile bookshop simulation set in a seaside town.
Tiny Bookshop is a shopkeeping simulation video game from developer Neoludic Games and publisher Skystone Games. Players run a mobile bookshop in the fictional seaside town of Bookstonbury. The game is planned for release on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch, with a later arrival on Xbox Series X and S. As of 2024, the release date has not been officially confirmed, and claims about Xbox Game Pass availability are unverified.
In the game, players take on the role of a bookseller operating a trailer-turned-bookshop. They can design and decorate the shop, sell and recommend real-world books to customers, befriend local non-player characters, discover new locations, and complete missions around town. Each day, the player chooses a spot in Bookstonbury to park the shop, then selects how many books from seven genres to stock, up to the capacity of their shelves. Once open, customers browse the selection. Some NPCs are regulars, and the player can build friendships with them through missions. Many customers ask for help finding a book that fits specific criteria. The player can browse the shop’s current titles—seeing the title, author, publication date, page count, and a short description—to make a recommendation or tell the customer no suitable book is available. The books include both real and fictional titles.
Neoludic Games, a small studio based in Cologne, Germany, developed the game. As of 2024, no downloadable content (DLC) has been announced.
Tiny Bookshop received largely positive reviews, with critics praising its relaxing gameplay and cozy atmosphere. It won Most Charming Game at the Indie Cup Germany 2022 festival and the Ubisoft Newcomer Award at the German Developer Award in 2023.
