Lore & Background
The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic version of the Kanto region. A Ditto finds itself in a world abandoned by humans and uninhabitable to Pokémon. After finding its trainer's old Pokédex and assuming a form based on them, it meets a Tangrowth called Professor Tangrowth, who studies the environment and seeks to solve why humans and Pokémon left. Ditto restores habitats, encounters special Pokémon such as Peakychu, Smearguru, Mosslax, Chef Dente, DJ Rotom, and Tinkmaster, and discovers logs left by humanity that reveal the landscape became inhospitable, forcing humans to decamp to outer space and store Pokémon in a massive computer system.
